U.S. Troops Criticize Proposal That Would Ban Smoking in Military
It’s about time. The military has been talking about a smoke free Air Force ever since I joined 14 years ago. Why not quit? Because smoking eases stress? Because it’s stressful to quit? You might have alot of stress trying to quit, but you’d have less stress later after quitting. It’s actually it’s very bad for your health, and it’s an addiction. I think most people know this. The problem is that it’s just too addictive and stressful to quit. Some people think the military would be imposing to much on it’s members by banning smoking, but maybe it’s just the right motivation that military members need to quit. If the military can make it’s members quit for a week and a half of basic training (or is it 8 weeks now?), then they can probably make you quit longer than that, maybe permanently. And everybody wins. Well except for the tobacco companies.
